Over its four-year history, BearWaters Brewing Company has been making steady progress finding its niche in the growing craft beer industry in Haywood County. Now it is poised to make history as the first brewery to be located in Canton.

After several years of speculation, owner Kevin Sandefur got the news three months ago that the building on Frazier Street that BearWaters had been leasing was indeed sold and the lease would not be renewed, precipitating an intense search for a new location.bw3

“Luckily for us, everything just fell into place perfectly. We saw the new location and it was just love at first sight,” Sandefur said of the brewery’s new home at 101 Park Street in Canton.
