New Belgium begins hiring push for West Asheville brewery

New Belgium Brewing is charging into the new year with two major local projects. It will begin hiring for its new West Asheville brewery and is preparing for delivery of big brewing equipment on Craven Street.

New Belgium will hire up to 50 workers for its Asheville location through 2015, and will participate Jan. 7 in the ninth annual Homecoming Job Fair at the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher. At full build-out, the brewery will employee 140 full-time workers.

The job fair lets candidates meet the new Belgium team face-to-face, brewery spokeswoman Suzanne Hackett said. Experience is not necessary for some of the jobs.
